BBC Survey shows – Yorkshire nationalism is batted out of the ground – Calls for the Yorkshire Party to disband!

Eddie Bone, the Campaign Director for the Campaign for an English Parliament, said:-

“The Yorkshire Party seeks independence and wants to be a nation distinct from England with its own Yorkshire Parliament, however the latest BBC and YouGov survey on English identity shows that 82% of people living in Yorkshire don’t just identify as being English BUT are proud to be English”.

Eddie Bone continued:-

“We say that the time has come to give a greater voice to England as a nation because this would also be giving a greater voice to the counties, town and cities of England. An English government would effectively silence the Yorkshire Party’s calls to break up England”.

“The Yorkshire Party’s claim that they have any significant support for an autonomous Yorkshire now look ridiculous and hollow. Their credibility has been batted out of the ground by English pride and the Yorkshire nationalism is now bowled out! The Yorkshire Party should give any idea of Yorkshire independence up because it is clear that the Yorkshire County of England doesn’t want it”

“Yorkshire people see themselves as a strong county and as part of  England as a nation,  The Yorkshire Pary should respect the wishes of the majority of the people living in Yorkshire and disband!”.
