"How kind of Gordon Brown, the MP for Kikcaldy and Cowdenbeath in Scotland, to find some loose change down the back of the sofa to pay for free prescriptions for cancer patients.

I remember when my own mother was recovering from cancer the last thing she needed was the worry of how to pay for prescriptions when she was unable to work.

However, when considering Mr Brown's generosity, it should be rem…

The Media Watch group was created on the 1st of September 2008 to monitor the media's reporting of English issues to ensure that they are reported fairly an accurately.

The British media has a habit of reporting English-only stories such as health, education and transport as if they applied to the whole of the UK. It was one such occurance - the reporting of a campaign by Keep Britain Tidy (which only operates in England) - that prompted the formation of the Media Watch unit.

	"Labour is still not listening

So, Labour has lost yet another election - Glasgow East, next to Gordon Brown’s constituency. Just like after losing the election in Crewe and Nantwich, ministers trotted out the “we need to listen to the people” line and claimed they were just victims of circumstance - the price of fuel, the credit crunch, etc.
