Eddie Bone, the Campaign Director for the Campaign for an English Parliament, said:- "Mebyon Kernow, the Cornish National party seeks independence for Cornwall and wants to be a nation distinct from England, however the latest BBC and YouGov survey on English identity shows that 62% of people living in Cornwall don't just identify as being English BUT are proud to be English". By giving the Cornish County Council a greater voice working with an English government would effectively silence Mebyon Kernow calls for an independent Cornwall". Their credibility has been smashed on the rocks of English pride and Cornish nationalism is now shown to be dead in the water!
