Dear Member and Supporter
On the 14th September 2015 Jeremy Corbyn announced his shadow cabinet. The Campaign for an English Parliament has tirelessly continued to ask that the people of England be treated fairly.
The Campaign Team for the CEP will be sending a letter to all the individuals named in the new shadow cabinet. Here is a draft. We shall await responses with interest.
Dear xxxxx,
The Campaign for an English Parliament would like congratulate you on your recent appointment to xxxx and would respectfully request that you answer the following questions.
The people of England need to be treated with respect and fairness so there is an urgent need to know where you stand on answering the English question. Jeremy Corbyn is recognised to be a man that will speak his mind so we ask that you answer the questions in a frank and unambiguous manner
• Do you support the establishment of an English Labour Party?
• Do you support the production of an English Manifesto?
• Do you support the creation of a Secretary of State for England who has parity with those of Scotland and Wales?
• Do you support the creation of an English parliament?
• Do you support the abolition of the Barnett formula so that UK funding can be allocated solely according to need?
• Do you support further powers to the Scottish Parliament and Welsh Assembly?
We believe that the questions put to you are of the utmost importance as there is little time left to save the UK and we believe that democratic recognition of England is the only way forward. Please respond to these question within 21 days otherwise we will publicise the obvious inference.
Yours Faithfully
Steve Davies
